Dear God,

How beautiful are your ways, Loving God.  For summer is soon to give way to autumn.  Night temperatures will cool.  Leaves will begin to show their colors.  Before long animals will begin their nocturnal sleep.  The seasons are changing again.

I love transition time.  That in-between time between seasons is a time of preparation.  The ground is preparing to do its important fall and winter work.  The trees will soon begin to draw their nutrients and dig deeper down to its natural resources.  Everything above ground will begin to look stark, barren but roots below ground will become anything but stagnant and dark.  Transition time, preparation time.

This is also the time of preparation for us, O God.  You use the seasons to challenge the human soul.  Now is the time, you whisper to us.  Now is the opportunity, the time for change, transformation.  We can use this time to let go, to surrender all that may have served us well the last few months but now no longer is helpful or useful.  You invite us into the next chapter of life, rich with possibility.  We can use this transition time for soul work.

for reminding us
we too
need change.
Thanks for
the opportunity
to release
and grab hold
of something
more important
for the
next stage,
the next chapter,
the next step.
You are good
to help us,
Almighty God.
Help us
to move.
