Dear God,

You give us compassion when we don't feel like being compassionate.  You open doors and windows and call our name to step inside, to find the needy and to act kindly.

Our next door neighbor does not like us.  Simple as that.  Probably has some good reason so we don't normally talk.  But today the postal worker delivered their mail to us which meant I had to take their mail to them.  When I saw them working outside in their yard, I wished them a good afternoon and told them how beautiful their manicured yard looked and then I handed them their mail.  I bid them both a good day.

A while back I might not have wanted to do that.  I would have simply marked "Delivered to wrong address" on the envelopes and put it back in my own mailbox for the postal worker to pick up and deliver to right address.  But not today.  You wanted more of me and I was grateful.

Blessed Lord,
you give us
so many opportunities
for change.
You want
clean hearts
and willing spirits.
You want us
to be
merciful loving people.
You want us
to reach out.
You want us
to be
the very
created beings
you made us
to be.
Thank you
for transforming me today.

Love, Andrea
