Dear God,
Surprises await us. In the 12 years I have worked on the spiritual path, I have dug up numerous items from coins to marbles, barbed wire to broken dishes and from rusty pipes to children's toys. But each time I found some unexpected surprise, I made a spiritual discovery.
Spiritual gems await barely hidden from our eyes. All we need to do is a little work, a little digging. I have found things I lost like hope, peace and joy. When I dug up those items from the ground, I dug up a little help for myself. By ridding myself of the junk, I discovered spiritual jewels.
The greatest discovery is always what you do in ordinary human lives. We don't have to be spiritual geniuses, scholars or devout monks or nuns; we can be regular human beings going about daily life but interested in the things of the spirit. You so want to give us gifts but we have to be present to receive and open them.
Thank you,
Eternal God,
for the gifts
of your
wondrous spirit.
Thank you
for your love
first and foremost.
Thank you
for your challenges
to be more,
to receive more,
to surrender more,
to give more,
to love more
and finally
to serve more.
Love, Andrea
