Dear God,
Every day is a miracle, O Lord. You call our name to awaken us in the morning. Yours are the last words spoken to us before falling asleep. All day long you draw near through relationships, nature, hopes and dreams and so much more. Opening ourselves to you allows us to be aware of your living presence.
This morning I sat in the darkness mesmerized by the beauty of our lighted Christmas tree. Yes, it is a fresh tree with baubles of varying colors and white lights and red beads but it is so much, much more. When I gaze upon the small, wooden depiction of St. Francis, I think of how close to you I felt while in Assisi, Italy in 2005. When I look at the colorful tin church, I remember how my faith grew as I sat with you at Christ in the Desert in Abiquiu, New Mexico. And when I peek at the small olive wood bell painted with a tiny nativity scene, I think of being in Bethlehem and feeling the joy of new birth. I see miracles when I look at my tree and think of you, Most Glorious God.
You are God;
there is none
like you.
I am blessed
to be
in your presence,
Thank you
for miracles,
all miracles.
Love, Andrea
