Dearest God,

You are our hope.  You are our light.  You are our peace.  Our faith inspires us to believe these things about you.  As we battle Covid-19, we place our whole trust in you.

Right now we are tempted to be afraid, anxious and despairing but a long time ago you promised to be with us always.  You promised to be our light, our hope and our peace.  When we fall backward into your arms, we deepen our trust in you as we face the onslaught of this dreaded disease.

As we trust, we have more energy to pray and serve and love others.  As we find our peace, we are enabled to encourage others, to pray more and to do our part, whatever that is, to help in this battle.  When we trust in you, we can even find joy because there is joy in trusting you.

And so on this beautiful day in Brownsburg, Indiana, I commit myself to trust you more so I can do more for those who suffer.

Strengthen us
for this fight,
O Lord.
Guide us
to your peace.
Show us
how we
can serve others
while responsibly
keeping ourselves safe
so we
do not
carry disease
to others.
Make us whole,
I pray.
