Dear God,
A new family is forming, Loving God, and I am sure your hand is in it.
Strangers are locking arms together as they protest and march calling for radical reform. Their hearts seem to be beating the same beat. They cry out for justice for their black and brown brothers and sisters. This family wants more together than they could want alone.
They want a better world, a better life. They want it not just for themselves but for those around the world, especially in America. They want equal rights, equal care, equal opportunity, equal kindness and equal hope.
As they march chanting the name of George Floyd, recently murdered by a policeman, they are demanding love, peace and joy for all.
Holy God,
thank you
for making
a new family
of caring folk.
Thank you
for those
who are willing
to put themselves
on line
to eradicate
injustice, hate,
prejudice and
everything else
that serves
as an obstacle
to true humanity.
Unite us
for good,
O Lord,
I pray.
Love, Andrea
