Dear God,
They came. After five years they came.
Our grandson was a victim of abuse as a child by his own parents. He married a woman who continued with emotional abuse. When they divorced, he spiraled downhill. He hit rock bottom. It took a long time to rise up from his tomb and to find light again.
Today he and his new fiancée came to visit us for the weekend. I literally ran out the front door and threw my arms around them both. I hugged and squeezed for a long time.
It is easy enough to drop to very low levels when life is spirally out of control. It is more difficult to climb up and out of the dark hole. And yet in your mercy and prayers from near and far, it is not only possible. It is probable. Our beloved grandson has found and is living in the light!
Praise to you,
Lord God,
for the gift
of faith.
Thank you
for the gifts
of strength
and courage.
Thank you
for giving us
second chances
and third
and fourth
and more.
Bless our grandson
and his wife-to-be.
May they
find joy
that only you
can give.
Love, Andrea
