Dear God,

I really do thrive on quiet, not the absence of sound, but the opening to the divine.  I don't need to hear my own voice or any other.  I don't need television, telephones or other devices.  I love silence, when I get the opportunity to quiet my heart, mind and soul.  I open myself to you, wait patiently and when you are ready listen to you.  Sometimes it is a feeling, a word, an insight, a pearl of wisdom, a convicting word, a challenge or a word of affirmation.  It is always sweet.

I need silence.  When I do not have it, I grow frustrated, anxious or irritated.  When I do enter into silence, I find a calmness, solitude and serenity.  Peace and hope rise up in me.  I am enabled to let go of what ails me.  I find you.

Holy God,
thank you
for quiet moments
with you.
Thank you
for returning me
to the silence
when I am
caught up
in the chaos
of daily life.
Thank you
for allowing me
to walk
with you.

Love, Andrea
