Dear God,
Like squirrels hard at work finding food and tucking it away for snowy days, I am sitting with a circle of friends whose faith, words and wisdom are filling me up for those same days. There's something meaningful about intentionally searching for inspiring spiritual treasures for gray days.
You have blessed me with this Autumn opportunity, O Lord, and I am discovering great delight and joy in the search. Very special people sit with me early each morning leading, challenging and sometimes even convicting me. I feel safe and loved in their presence giving me inner permission to be vulnerable so I can be honest with you and myself. Although nature's fall and winter seasons are not typically growing seasons, they still offer ways to go deep, to dwell in the loving dark places with you and to roam in vast spaces where insights, wisdom and learning can take place. It's fascinating what we can learn from squirrels in Autumn.
Thank you,
Holy God,
for the beauty
of this season.
Thank you
for teachers
like squirrels,
trees and skies.
Thank you
today's blessings.
Love, Andrea
