Dear God,
Your light, your light, your light...how it blesses, inspires and produces hope and love in me. This morning as I sat in a darkened room except for the lights on the mantle and Christmas tree, I took off my glasses to pray. When I turned my face to the tree, the white lights glowed, each tiny white light looking like a huge, sparkling diamond. I couldn't keep my eyes off them.
What I realized during my devotional time this morning is how so many things in life do not draw attention to themselves but rather direct us more deeply toward you. The Christmas lights make my tree beautiful but they do so much more. They cause me to think of you, your light, your love, your warmth, your generosity. Those lights are gifts of your spirit designed to draw me closer to you and I do, I really do.
Holy and Living God,
every praise
I can muster
belongs to you.
My heart
spills forth gratitude.
You are God,
my God
and I
am full
of delight
and devotion.
Love always, Andrea
