Dear God,

This morning in one of her books, Madeleine Engle remarked, "If we are not creating, we are not fully alive."  I read it over again and pondered the question.  What am I creating?  Chaos, judgement, acceptance, hatred, bitterness, beauty, what?

At my worst I am creating judgement, bitterness and anger.  At my best I am creating faith, possibility and hope.  As I stand before you, I know when my creation is ugly, mean-spirited and bad.  Inside I feel guilty, hopeless and broken.

To create in faith, we birth new life, potential, infinite possibility, transformation and peace.  If this is what we commit our self to, then we feed not only ourselves but others as well.  This is the art of holy creation.

Life-Giving God,

we always stand

before you.

Our lives

are in

your hands.

Help us 

create beauty

hope, joy

and peace

for all,

I pray.
