Dear God,

As I pieced the flannel comforter together, a gift for my husband for Christmas, I thought of the way you piece our lives together making it whole.  Who has the power to connect all our pieces together?  No one but you, Holy, Loving God.

I remember having lost pieces through estrangement, divorce and cancer.  At times I was overwhelmed, unable to keep it all together.  But when I began to trust you more and more, you showed me the way to reclaim, renew and restore my life.  I could not do it alone; you were the power of this amazing transformation.

We all have fallen pieces, Merciful God; nothing is lost to you.  You know it all.  You hold every piece.  When the pieces begin to come together, it is then we remember whose power and love enabled the whole process.
