Dear God,
This early morning while doing my devotions, I gazed upon the Christmas tree beside me. It is so beautiful, most ornaments having some special meaning. With the lights all aglow, the red beads shining and the prized ornaments speaking their own language of love, I realized that although the tree is lovely, it would mean nothing without faith, without Christmas, without a baby in a manger. It would simply be a pretty tree in the living room. But why?
I spend hours decorating my tree. I love the pine scent, the snow I spray on it and every ornament. I love making it beautiful because I do it for you. I give it to you; I dedicate it to you. It is a symbol of my love for you.
I keep it up for weeks, well past time most people take it down. I keep it up because it feeds my faith, my prayers and my gratitude. I just keep celebrating who you are, what you are about and what you mean to me. I fill with joy and thanksgiving!
Loving, Compassionate God,
thank you
for the gift
of Christmas
and for
my tree
that speaks
your language.
Thank you
for blessing
and inspiring!
Yours, Andrea
