Dear God,

Why is it so easy to lose faith?  How can we experience a miracle on Sunday and complain on Monday? 

We are finite humans prone to fall prey to sin.  We forget all you have done and are doing.  We let go of the joy of miracle to grab hold of "a mess of potage."

Teach us once again the lesson of faith, of trust and surrender.  Forgive us our failings, our desire to complain and our outrage when we don't get what we want. Guide us, Eternal God, to the well of grace.

Thank you,

O God,

for making

us discontent

with ourselves

when we fail.

More than anything

we seek you,

your way

and your will.

Help us

climb the mountain

of grace.
