Dear God,

This morning just before my devotions, I sat in the chair next to the Christmas tree and gazed into its branches.  The blue hue of the lights, the snowy branches and ornaments caused me to be transfixed on the mystery of Christmas.  Why would intelligent people cut down an evergreen tree, place it in a holder with water and then decorate it with baubles and bows if not for faith?

The Christmas tree declares Christmas exists.  Christ exists.  Faith exists.  Its presence says I believe.  I believe in the mystery and magic of Christmas.  I believe love came down at Christmas.  I believe in gifts, prayers, songs, laughter and hope.  I even believe in peace on earth, good will to all.

A smile spread wide on my face this morning as I pondered the dimensions of my faith.

Holy are you,
God of my faith.
Thank you
for the holy
in my home.
Thank you
for coming
long ago
and just
minutes ago.
Thank you
for faith
that opens doors
to you.

Love always, Andrea
