Dear God,

The greater our trust, the more love that falls from heaven.  Faith opens doors to heaven's ways.

The more we hold our lives tightly, the less space there is for faith.  Trusting makes life easier, happier and more fulfilling.  It eases tension, releases us from burdens and make us breathe easier.

So why do we hold on so fervently?  We are control freaks, Lord; we like power, authority and control.  We like to force others into our molds and our ways.  But our ways are not in our best interest or the best interest of others.  When we hold gently and softly, faith is able to make it into the cracks, changing us and giving us opportunity to transform others.

Holy God,

you are 

the power

of love

and faith

and surrender.

Thank you

for loving us

so much

that we

are able

to take hold

of your hand.

Lead us

to life,

O God,

a life

of faith.
