Dear God,

Today I learned a lesson of faith...again!  Some of us forget, like me sometimes, but not today.  Today I remembered.

I was sitting in the dirt on the spiritual path I have been working on for more than a decade.  Nearly every weekday and most Saturdays in spring, summer and fall, I can be found on the path in the dirt.  This was my first day back on the path.  Today I raked, pulled weeds and cleared flower gardens.  

When I first went down to the path, all I could see were tons of dead leaves, fallen branches and limbs from winter storms and weeds.  What a mess!  But then my friend Susan and I began our work.  Little by little what you see when you look on the path was revealed...beauty, grace, hope, life and peace.  My heart reveled in what I was seeing.  I began praying my thanksgivings and gratitude.  

The lesson was this:  Look deeper, there is more than meets the eye.  Get busy, start cleaning up.  Anticipate more beneath the clutter and debris.  Work with the creator.  Pray, smile and give thanks.

You are God;

there is none

like you.

Recreate me

however many times

is necessary,

O Lord.

I want

to be yours.

I want

to follow 

your will.

I will

to live gratitude!
