Dear God,

Why do we set ourselves up as small gods?  Why do we think our way is the only way?  Why do we operate as everyone else is underling to follow our will and lead?

Lately in my devotional reading I have listened to Richard Rohr and Henri Nouwen speak of listening as an act of love and devotion.  We do not always have to agree with others' opinions but out of our love for you and every brother and sister, we act in holy listening.  As we listen, really listen, we find there are moments of unity, understanding and sometimes shifts in our thinking and appreciation of the other.  Only in this way shall we find love once again.

to listen.

listen to

your voice first

and then

our neighbor.
