Dear God,

When I arrived home after several hours of being on a car, two long shuttles and an airplane, I breathed in prayers of thanksgiving.  It is so easy to pray for trust and help in our fears but often we fail to give thanks for the gift you give us.  Today in my weariness I uttered my gratitude as I fell to sleep.

Gratitude is a gift we give back to you.  It is acknowledging your presence, help and love.  It is offering back our appreciation for providing for us.  If we forget to give thanks, our earlier prayer is incomplete.  

Thank you,

Loving God,

for every gift.

Thank you

for help,

for giving us

what we need

when we

need it.

Thank you

for being

our God

and for

loving us

more than

any other.
