Dear God,

Some of my friends have joined me in working on a spiritual path in our woods and by the river.  For more than a decade we have dug.  \

Periodically, I ask them why they volunteer to work with me.  Each one voices the mystery of working on a path dedicated to God.  In digging up weeds, roots and dead trees, shrubs and invasive vines, they tell me they are uncovering some of what lays dormant in their own lives.  Memories, beliefs, troubling issues, faith and wonderings cause them to think, evaluate and pray.  As they consider the work they do for you and for me, they are learning more about themselves and how you may be wanting to transform them.  They discover peace, hope and joy and sometimes healing.
