Dear God,

Thank you for a new year, many opportunities to "get it right" and discover the countless places and people in which your spirit is present!  New slates are always good.  In the new year I can draw a new picture, sing a new song and become a brighter light in the darkness.

We can do all these things because your spirit is at work in us as well.  We can wake up to a new day and start with a prayer of praise for a new day, a good night's sleep and food in the pantry.  And all that can be done before we even crawl out of bed.  What better way is there to start the day and the new year?

of a

in the

old year.

Thank you

for being

the power

that can enable

us to

become new

in the 

new year.
