Dear God,
In the quiet December morning I simply gaze out upon the snowy landscape and feel your presence so near. I watch out the window as the robin hops from branch to branch finding red berries to eat. She watches me as I watch her because she found our house days ago and has made a temporary home here.
I am always wowed by the ways you bring people and animals together. When I mentioned the plump bird to my daughter, she said she watched her all Christmas day because she sat near the window. I simply named her Robin and welcomed her to our holy space.
Thank you,
Loving God,
for loving
all creatures.
Thank you
for bringing us together.
Thank you
for the
surprising gifts
of Advent
and Christmas!
Love, Andrea
