Dear God,

Why do we carry so many worries and anxieties, Lord?  Why do we bear so many burdens?  Why do we allow fear to paralyze us?  Why?

You say, "Do not worry.  Do not be afraid!"  Yet, we dismiss or dilute your words in favor of going on our own without you.  We walk solo without divine power and sacred hope.  We remain in our puddle of difficulty.

But when we fall at your feet pleading for help, you are there replenishing our courage, strength and hope.  You want to give us resources to assist us in our travail.  You want us to trust you, to find more power than we can muster on our own.  You want to wrap us in love that keeps us going.  And when we do, we look up and out and we step forward without fear and trepidation.  We know you are not only God of the cosmos but our God who cares even for the baby lambs.

Thank you,

Almighty God,

for the invitation

to trust you.

Thank you

for blessing us

with all

we need

to live

and thrive.

Rid us

of all

that holds us back,

I pray.
