Dear God,

While it may seem odd or strange, I believe we need crucifixion and death in order to understand resurrection and new life.  At times I need to die to whatever is keeping me trapped in sin or willful way so that I might change, repent to find opportunity to resurrection and new life.  Your own son showed us the way.

On this Good Friday, I have plenty to let die so the ground beneath me may grow fertile again with possibility.  I need to breathe my last in sin to clear myself of all that keeps me bound.  I need to surrender again.

Loving God,

lead me

to the cross

where I

may die

to myself.

Breathe into me

new air,

the air

of faith

and grace.

Resurrect me,

I pray.
