Dear God,

This morning as I packed for a five-day silent retreat at the Monastery of the Immaculate Conception, I heard your still small voice say "John Michael Talbot."  I went downstairs and looked through old CD's.  There it was, a CD from the latter part of the last century.  I tucked it in my purse.

For 145 miles, I listened, sang and wept as John Michael Talbot sang.  I had nearly forgotten about him and the beautiful, mellow, Christian music he has been singing for decades.  He met my soul right where I was.

I never cease to be amazed at the way you speak to us, O God.  More often than not, we miss the whispers, the shouts and the waves that come our way but each and every time, it is you trying to get our attention.  You want to speak to our heart or to our mind or to our spirit.  You want to commune with us.  You want us to engage with you.  Today I didn't miss it and how thankful I am.

Blessed God,
thank you
for your
gentle nudging.
Thank you
for bringing
John Michael Talbot
back into
my life.
Thank you
for your
healing word today.

Yours, Andrea
