Dear God,

Just now the mother bird popped back into her birdhouse to feed her young.  Just after battling with a worm in the dirt, she chews it up and then flies to her babies to give them what they need to live and grow.  The wonder of motherhood and creation's design for tender care causes me to give thanks.

But then I realize you care for us too.  You provide for us just like the mother bird.  The blueberries I ate two days ago, the water I drank a few minutes ago and the cereal I will eat at breakfast all came from you.  You are Mother Bird to us providing, giving and loving us.

Holy God,
thank you
for daily gifts
of food,
fellowship and love.
Thank you
for tending to
our needs.
Thank you
for blessing us
so we
can be
Mother Bird's too.

Love, Andrea
