Dear God,

Trusting you in every situation is the greatest challenge in our lives.  When the storm clouds roll in, we begin to feel uneasy.  Before long we tend to become fearful.  We imagine dark times and being sucked in to clouds of doubt, pain and loss.  But all that can be avoided when we begin with trust to face our fear.

Throughout your days on earth, you taught your disciples to trust and follow you.  You reminded them to take the high road, to love their enemies and to walk in faith.  You constantly reassured them of your daily living presence.  You offered them your strength and power.  Even the impossible could become possible with your help.

As we in America and the world face the storms of evil during the next four years, may we trust as never before.  My we place our faith in you and ourselves to do good, to love all and to call for justice.  May we never fail to live in hope!

You are

the power

behind our faith,

O God.

Help us remember

we do not

walk alone.

We can face

every difficulty

with you.

Guide us,

Living God,

we pray.
