Dear God,

Is there anyone who holds our tears like you?  Anyone who understands tears?  

Twenty years ago when I visited Jericho in Israel, I searched for tear jars.  They were small with watercolor on glass.  I used them in a women's retreat.  Why?  Because there is a scripture regarding how you notice and catch every tear we cry.

O Lord, there are so many weeping now.  So many are afraid or have lost so much.  With anguish boiling up or bubbling up, it comes out as tears.  How do we make a way to hold each other's tears?  How do we respect and love those who weep?  How do we show care and work to be tear holders?

Thank you

for blessing us

and holding

our tears.

For no one

loves us

like you.

Make our tears

holy tears

when we

capture and hold

one another's tears.

Make love

the drive

of our lives.
