My dearest God,
I watched the faces of my confirmands as they listened to the woman sharing about her drug addiction and how it had taken her to prison and how faith had taken her out. I watched when they each one went up to her and gave her a hug before we left.
Sitting on the floor at my house eating spoony fudge, we talked about this woman, her courage and her faith. We are talking about doing our required mission project at the Lucille Raines Residence for recovering addicts. Maybe a dance. Maybe a party for the residents.
I am privileged to be able to see faith grow. I see it take root. I watch it bloom and blossom. I see the impact on the human spirit. I see you.
O God,
you are
the Source
of change
and transformation.
You take
a single person
and you
give them
an adjustment,
an upgrade
of spirit
and faith.
Your love,
O God,
spills out,
pouring out
upon us.
How grateful
we are.
You make
our love grow.
Love, Andrea
