My dearest God,
How much power does a person have to give you to heal them? What is faith if not the placing of one's own power into the hands of the Almighty to heal, teach, lead, forgive and love us? What hope is there for us if we retain the power to control our destiny, set human parameters and determine what allowances we will give you?
O God, sometimes religion or faith is little more than a dry, structured set of beliefs without power that sets the framework for moral and ethical behavior. Sometimes it simply functions to give us a nice value system.
But what about your living power that raises the lifeless to life, the hopeless to hope, the sinner to grace? And what about joy, that eternal erupting of heaven's glory even on earth? Your divine power has infinite capabilities to change and transform the cosmos and each human creature. You are the source of love that breathes new life into the broken, the hurt, the disappointed, the wounded. What is faith if not utter trust in the One who creates anew?
As long as human power divides and subtracts divine power, what can anyone expect to have happen in their life? What will ever change in the world, in the human soul? A dwindling down, a reduction in that which is sacred divinity leaves us ultimately with our own self, a single human creature in charge of their own life. What power do any of us have to mould and change bad into good, broken into whole, hurt into healed? What can a single person do to bring beauty out of ugliness, love out of hate, joy out of sorrow?
What is faith if not trust in the Maker of Heaven and Earth? Why drink from a dirty well filled with polluted debris when fresh, thirst-quenching living water is available? Why search for human divinity, making one's own self God rather than seek divine treasure that uplifts, gives meaning, revolutionizes the human soul, mind and body and remakes the stuff of the past into potential for the future?
O God,
your power
from on high
is the
only force
that will
change us
for the good.
You have
endowed us
with power
to tap
into heaven's power.
You have
shown us
the way
of divine trust
that transforms
bringing new life
out of decay.
You do
all you do
out of a
cosmic love
so far beyond
our own capabilities
and how
we love you
for it!
Always, Andrea
