My dearest God,

Just the head and wings of my garden angel stick up above the snow. All is quiet and still and the snowy landscape points to a rare kind of beauty. Hoarfrost clings to each branch and limb. The morning sun pierces the shadow around the tree causing catchy sparkles on each teeny strand of ice and snow. How remarkable is the wondrous beauty of your creation. The peaceful scene challenges me to give thanks.

As I step into each new day my eyes fall upon the wonders of your creation. I see and hear evidence of your grand presence in human life, in nature and all that is around and within me. Every day is an occasion to be grateful.

Yesterday I was privileged to process into the sanctuary with the choir singing, Love Divine, All Loves Excelling. To join the throng of those who seek you in your beloved house gives me great joy. If the church is truly your beloved, then singing your praises in your church is parallel to singing in the heavenly choir with the angels.

Even the words of scripture, the message and the fellowship speak to me of your loving kindness. This is all possible because you created the church for your people. You recreate it every Sunday as we gather. Like the first time we have the opportunity to join you in praise, prayer, song, and word and there we experience your gracious love. Throughout the service I found myself smiling for I was certain I was caught up in your compassionate embrace.

Let me
sing your praise
forever,
O God;
use my voice
to tell
your grace-filled story.
Let me
never cease
sharing the wonders
of your cosmos,
of your
unconditional love
and tender mercy.
With all
my heart,
I will
love you forever.

As always, Andrea
