Dear God,

It's all a matter of perspective. As I look out my back windows, I view our woods by the river. I am itching to get out there to begin to clear weeds, limbs and fall debris. It doesn't look like a huge task from inside my back porch. However, when I actually walk out there and stand by the ever-growing wood pile, I am overwhelmed with the work needing to be done.

I remember another time. When I drove over Eagle Creek and looked out at the sail boats, I wondered why people didn't become bored sailing in the small area. Yet, when my husband and I were invited a few years ago to sail with another couple, I felt like a small speck in a large waterway.

The recent scene reminded me to not only think about my own perspective but to take into consideration someone else's. I realize that life looks different depending on where I stand.

Teach me,
I pray,
dear God,
to see
what you see
and the way
you see it.
Then help me
take your lead
to look at
a situation
through your lens.
Give me
the ability
to listen
and follow you.
Remould the world,
O Lord,
so that
we may
recognize Eden
from your perspective.

Love, Andrea
