Dear God,
I have always believed something good can come out of something bad. I believe that redemption can come when a person chooses to transform a situation.
This came home to me today when I watched an interview with a woman who was attacked by a gorilla who lived in a home with a woman. The victim lost her face, her eyesight, her hands except one thumb and her ability to care for herself. She talked of forgiveness. She does not harbor resentment against the owner of the gorilla.
I also listened to a news commentator talk about the horrific oil gouch in the earth that has released an exorbitant amount of the pollutant in the ocean. While we wait and watch, more and more marine life is dying, wetlands are being destroyed and family livelihoods and culture are disappearing. Yet, thousands of residents, volunteers, paid workers and interested parties have come together to work to clean up the environment.
All this gives me hope for our world. You have made us to help one another and our communities. We do not have to be plagued by our past or our present forever; we can change, take what we have and make a difference.
Great Change Agent,
we are made
with extraordinary abilities.
You have
fashioned us
with your
own hands.
You have
made us
to adapt,
to take
what we
have been given
and transform
our lives.
We owe
you all
we have.
Love, Andrea
