My dearest God,

Our friend considers every day a gift because he was near death a couple years ago. He was saved through a transplant.

Today he came over on his way to the oral surgeon who was going to do a root canal due to an abscess. The anti-rejection drugs wreak havoc on his teeth and gums. Bacteria have a heyday in his mouth.

Eric doesn't complain. When he was given a new kidney and liver, he knew he was being given a new life. He's a firefighter and works for his brother. Basically, life is good.

Now he works to help others. This weekend he is going to run/walk in memory of a fallen comrade who lost his battle with cancer at the age of 37. Although his ankle is swollen and he doesn't feel well, Eric is a symbol of thanksgiving.

Thank you
for Eric
and others
who serve
as your emissaries.
May they
be blessed
so they
may bless others.

Love, Andrea
