My dearest God,

I called my friend to see if he had inadvertently walked away with my car keys. He had not but in the course of the conversation, I saw my camera case and wondered. Sure enough I had put them in the case at the beach and used my other key.

I remember losing my wedding ring for over a year. We had spent the night away for our anniversary. My lymphedema had flared and my hand had swollen. I had had to remove my ring. I found it in my Swiss needlepoint bag that I had used during our anniversary evening out.

I have been lost too. I've lost my way and suddenly found my path because you rose up to guide me. The joy of being found is like nothing else.

Losing something
always draws me
to you.
Losing myself
always nudges me
to call
upon you.
You are faithful,
Loving God,
to teach me
the lesson
of the lost
and the found.
I am grateful.

Love, Andrea
