Dear God,
Where does hope come from? How does it get a chance to grow when situations seem hopeless?
Just as I asked the question, my answer came. A tiny piece of lint moved past my eyes, caught somehow in the airflow of our home. I watched it move left, up and then it danced in front of me. Effortlessly it moved apparently pushed by the air blowing in from the dining room air vent.
A long time ago you disclosed your spirit breeze that constantly blows. A living reality, you move in human life. You reveal yourself to us, inviting us to move into your spirit airstream. Caught in the breath of your spirit, when we lean forward we discovering ourselves moving with you. Our trust in you builds hope in our situation. We begin to see changes around us; our perspective changes, our ability to trust grows, our courage wells up and our joy returns. Knowing there is One who cares more for our situation than we ourselves gives us the will to release our condition into your hands. We breathe in your loving spirit and breathe out dark despair, doubt and distress. We find peace and comfort that often eludes us. Love wraps us and hope returns.
You are
the source
of power
in our lives,
Almighty God.
Guide us
to instantly trust
when storms
begin to brew,
when our hope
begins to
drain away
at our feet.
Be the power
that moves us
reminding us
that trust
is the key
to hope.
Love, Andrea
