Dear God,
I figure a daily spiritual inventory is a good thing. Looking around and within to ascertain your gifts is important to living a life of gratitude.
Today I sat in my newly made Adirondack chair created by my friend Cindy. I opened my book and began to read. My husband sat in the other chair. My eyes fell upon the page but just as quickly I looked over at my husband. "It's really beautiful out here, isn't it!" He told me. I agreed.
During the course of our conversation we remembered back when our home was a mess, in need of much renovation. From the roof to the basement and everything in between, we had so much to do. And so we worked and worked and worked restoring this once magnificent home. About 90% completed we admired the structure, the rooms and colors, the love that has increased here.
We continued as I shared what I needed to do in the woods, the perimeter of the spacious yard, the hill overlooking the river, the tree line and fence row, and the land that moves downward from the hill to the river. As we imagined together my heart filled more and more with gratitude, the peak of my joy sitting next to me.
Thank you
for moments
of remembrance,
of joys
and blessings,
of gifts
and surprises
that you
have given.
Let my
soul fill
with thanksgiving
and overflow
with praise
for you.
Love, Andrea
