Dear God,
I heard them singing as I made my way across the street. The sounds of faith were wafting out the front door penetrating the air with faith and joy. It was easy to move to the music, to be invited in, to join my own spirit with those whose love for you was showing. I stepped inside the front door singing along the second verse of Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee. "All Thy works with joy surround Thee, earth and heaven reflect Thy rays. Stars and angels sing around Thee, center of unbroken praise."
As I took my seat in the alcove staying close to the cool breeze blowing outside, I let the music go where it wanted in my soul. First, it went to my head confirming my faith, increasing it really. Secondly, it traveled to my heart allowing my devotion and praise to sink in deep. Thirdly, it journeyed into my spirit, giving me spiritual energy with which to sing. Finally, it made its way into every fiber of my DNA. Tears welled in my eyes for so many reasons.
After worship and fellowshipping with friends in faith, I walked out the back way of the church humming the songs of the morning, celebrating the goodness of your love, and walking in faith and strength.
O Lord,
you feed
our hungry souls.
You fill us
with all sorts
of good gifts.
You tend
to the needy
and minister
to the broken.
You give us
opportunity to join
in eternity's song.
Wow!
Love, Andrea
