Dear God,
Periodically I write about writing to you. Today as I consider the time I spend writing you my daily letter, I realize another reason why I write. It is because I need to intentionally look for you every day. What would happen if I stopped looking, stopped anticipating a special encounter with you, stopped practicing my faith, stopped living in your presence, or stopped believing in the reality of God on earth "as it is in heaven"? What might happen?
In my wildest imagination I cannot fathom a life void of God, a life without you! I cannot conceive a day spent without pondering the relevance of faith at the center of human existence. I cannot see in my mind's eye the lack of divine sightings, the loss of the sounds of eternity, or the limits of heaven's realm. I cannot perceive creation without its sacred offerings.
And so I look and anticipate and write and celebrate and wonder and give thanks for you.
Holy God,
Wonder of All Wonders,
I revel
in the gift
of you
and the opportunity
I have
to pause
and consider
the beauty
and goodness
of Christian faith.
Thank you
for limitless chances
to connect,
to link myself
with you,
and to live
a life
of faith
with you daily.
Thank you
for the
written word
and the message
it conveys.
Love, Andrea
