Dearest God,

When I looked at the garden, the peppers seemed to be happy producing a wide variety of peppers already.  But the tomatoes were lying down on their sides, tired, weak, and wilting.  I gave them a sizable drink and later when I looked in again, they were happy, standing up, reaching for the sunshine.

That reminded me we too become weak, fragile, and even dysfunctional when we fail to drink from your well of living water.  Without you we have little to work with, even if we think we have a lot.  We need the water that quenches the spiritual, emotional, psychological, and even physical thirst.  We need the spiritual essentials in order to have the most fulfilling, valuable, and meaningful life.

As I observed my garden at first, you reminded me to drink, once again giving me the invitation to join you at  creation's well.

Loving God,
so full
of hospitality
and grace,
thank you
for the water
that quenches
every thirst.
Thank you
for my
personal cup
and the
wondrous opportunity
to drink
with you.

Love, Andrea
