Dear God,

Common experiences create memories that stay with us a lifetime.  They bring joy as we relive them.

This morning a couple of friends came to our home.  The wife was totally unaware as her husband planned a surprise anniversary trip.  When we saw each other we moved toward one another and embraced for a long time.  How fun it was.

Fifteen years ago we hiked a portion of the Appalachian Trail together.  We enjoyed worship at the same church.  The husband was one of my interns at church as he prepared for ministry.  Whenever we get together we remember the good gifts you gave us together.

But more than all this, we share faith, our love for you, our desire to serve, and the countless many blessings you have given us. We have laughed, offered kindness, prayed, eaten, and blessed one another for the last 48 hours, all this because you brought us together.  You are so good!

Blessed Lord,
your kindness
blesses us
over and
over again.
We thank you
for your gifts,
your extraordinary grace
that reaches
from heaven
to earth
every day.
Thank you
for touching
our lives
one more time.
