Dear God,

Just a few days ago I sowed shade mix grass seed under two heavy-canopied trees.  I breathed a prayer and hoped for the best.  Today as I walked by on my way to the woods, I saw tiny blades of green grass reaching for the sky.  What?  I could not believe it.  The rain and sunshine gave them what they needed and now I have grass.

How I wish my own seeds of faith could produce as much.  How I wish I too could rise up looking toward the sky ready to announce to you my crop of faith.  How I wish I could delight you so.

I realize it first takes a seed and seeds I have, plenty of them.  I believe.  I love.  I walk the pilgrim journey.  But like the grass seed I want to grow under your grace in such a way to show my love for you.  I want it to be as evident and quick.  I want to drink from your living well and eat spiritual food at your table.  I want to raise my cup and cry out praise to you.

I want to be a mighty witness for you.  I want to live peaceably learning life lessons along the way. I want others to see your light shining through me.  I want to love with your love so those around me might find the treasure trove of your goodness and mercy.

May it be so, O Lord; may it be so!

Gracious God,
thank you
for tender shoots
of faith.
Thank you
for heavenly food
and drink
that come
from your hand
every day.
Thank you
for nourishment
that feeds
my soul
so I
may offer you
my very best.

Love, Andrea
