Dearest God,
Is it possible the patient will get well and the caregiver will die? I'd like to say "Ha Ha" but I'm not ready to say that just yet!
Today I was so depleted I thought I might not ever regain my energy. Words were said and I spilled over. Sadly, the problem is an old one, one of us can't take the cold and the other can't take the heat. What in the world do you do about that? At bedtime I crawled into my sleeping bag in the cool basement (now you know who can't take the heat) and I cried. However, my tears were a movement to prayer. As I lay there mulling things over, a temporary halt came as you revealed a way to temporarily take care of both of us, allowing one of us to heal and the other to take care of herself as well.
Those moments in the cool refreshment of a finished but darkened basement, I learned yet another lesson in trust. You care about everything that troubles us. It may be something small or annoying or completely impossible, but you care about them all the same and you care about us. You remind us first and foremost that everything is solvable through faith. It may be a tiny tweak but a tiny tweak can make a difference and it reminds us just how your living presence can teach us to trust more.
Loving God,
thank you
for loving us.
Thank you
for challenging us
to come
to you
every time
life seems impossible.
Thank you
for humbling us
with faith.
Love, Andrea
