Dear God,

You can rewrite history revealing to us what we may not have seen before.  As we open ourselves to you, allow your spirit to do its work, and ready ourselves for more of your story, we are enabled to take a new look at an old story.  Although we may have rehearsed it the same way a thousand times, you show us the story from a different angle.  Suddenly we are empowered to accept a new truth, a new reality, a new perspective that can lead to healing, hope, and happiness.

A year ago the story was a sad one.  I could not imagine the story being told any other way.  The characters, the scene, and the content were painful as I lived it over and over again.  Nothing changed in my mind or my heart.  Yet, a year later I reflect back and see so much more than before.  The difference is I now see how your hand was at work renewing, redoing, and restoring.

So often I limit myself to one side of the truth.  In doing so I miss the whole of the story.  I can make judgments, decisions, and take action based on a half truth.  In time I will recognize my mistake but by then I may have compounded the problem.  On the other hand, when I truly give myself to you, surrendering my whole reality into your hands, I begin to see a sacred dimension to life and your grace opens new doors, wondrous doors to eternity where treasures, gems, and prizes await me.

thank you
for love
that waits,
heals, and helps
broken hearts.
Thank you
for sacred power
to be transformed
knowing we
have been touched
by you.
