Dear God,
You are the god of transformation! You can redeem us from our mistakes, our misdeeds, our sins, and our failings. You can take the stuff of the past and use it to teach us valuable lessons equipping us for our future.
Today I met with someone whose life was once in shambles. Like many of us she fell victim to temptation and poor choices. She hurt herself and many around her. She lost her way. Yet, today many years later I listened to her and acknowledged the many changes she has made because she discovered faith to be the tool to lead her toward healing and hope. Trusting in you she began the work of transformation and now she is truly a work of art.
Again and again I witness people whose lives have been turned around by faith. I see how you have aided them in the process of acknowledging their brokenness, looking themselves in the face, letting go of their arrogance to determine their own way, and finally trusting you to lead them into a brighter future. In their journey I have gazed upon the radiance that comes from following the light.
What I have learned from my own hills and valleys pilgrimage is you are always to be trusted. You will always lead us to the light, to hope, to peace, and to joy. It may be a painful walk, filled with pitted streets; yet, in the end, we do find where we are going with you.
Thank you,
dear God,
for my daughter.
Thank you
for her witness
to your
saving grace.
Thank you
for your compassion
that leads us
to hope
that inspires us
to move
in your direction.
Thank you
for welcoming us home.
Love, Andrea
