My dear God,

This afternoon I swept the front porch and sidewalk singing Amazing Grace and Joy to the World.  Both songs were a tribute to your work in the lives of three women I know.  I couldn't help but sing because my joy was so full.

One of my greatest joys is observing courageous people take steps in faith.  When they recognize your spirit at work and they leap forward taking the cue, my heart fills with joy!  And why not?  Isn't that what faith is all about?  And celebration and praise?

Two are living in the hope of their dreams coming true.  New jobs are opening up taking them away from their vocation giving them the opportunity to live anew.  One is putting to good use all the skills learned from counseling and faith to deal with a very painful situation.  All three are exhibiting the work of your living spirit!

Mighty and All-Powerful God,
thank you
for stretching
our awareness
of your
active, living presence
in the world today!
Thank you
for chances
to live
into new life
by putting feet
on our faith.
Move us forward,
dear God,
but never
let us forget
what you
have done.
Thank you!
