Dear God,
I sat in the back pew so I could be by the cool air coming in the open doorway. But I got more than cool air when I sat listening to the musical concert.
I cannot begin to fathom the greatness of your living spirit blowing in the direction of your people! As I listened to the symphony play you painted vivid images in my mind. What images they were. Such beauty! My whole soul was moved, inspired as I sat in the midst of your wonder.
In one scene I watched in my mind's eye the reciprocal antiphonal musical pieces being played and sung in the great cathedrals of Europe in the sixteenth century...a note, a melody, harmonies, and more. I gazed into the past, my eyes closed to my present surroundings and opened inside the magnificent sanctuary. As the hallowed space filled with choral and musical sound, I felt your spirit filling my soul. I watched as a participant in the glorious sound of heaven. Tears began to well as I simply could not contain my peaceful joy.
More and more you reveal your spirit living and breathing among your people. As we open ourselves to you, we are left breathless with joy overflowing!
Great God,
thank you
for faith
that opens doors
to time
and space.
As we
trust you
to show us
the delights
of eternity,
we are
never disappointed
because faith's power
ushers us
into your
sacred works.
How wondrous!
How gracious!
How joyous!
Thank you,
Majestic God,
for allowing me
to peer
into heaven today!
Love, Andrea
