Dear God,
Desert living teaches us to look for clear, fresh, bubbling water. As we sit and drink at your feet, we find spiritual and physical refreshment.
This morning my covenant group drank your living water at The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Having just returned from the desert we seated ourselves in the third pew from the front. We arrived early because our hearts and souls were full of grace that you yourself placed within us. We came to give thanks, to listen to your message, to sing out your praise in English and Spanish, to pray with the community of faith, and to make our offerings to you, Gracious God.
The morning message touched us deeply. Dovetailing on the learnings from the desert, we each one welled up not quite sure what more to do to say thank you. Your challenge reminded us that we do not accumulate your gifts for ourselves alone but you ask us to feed others with our gleanings of faith.
In worship as we attempted to give back, we were not surprised to have received more from your hands.
Generous and Living God,
thank you
for the
amazing gift
of worship.
Thank you
for inspiring us
to faith,
service, and
acts of mercy.
Thank you
for your
loving compassion
that prompts us
to care
for one another
in your name.
Love, Andrea
