Dear God,

Sometimes we behave as if Christ is no longer in Christian.  Sometimes we follow the low road.  Sometimes we give into temptation that gives evidence we are less that who you made us to be.

So often we disappoint you by our behavior.  We complain, moan and hiss when life does not develop the way we want.  Our attitudes sour, our decisions are poor, and our actions disturb.  When we forget whose we are, we are liable to failure.

The best news of all is you come upon the wind and remind us we are still your children.  You soothe us with your merciful spirit giving us grace upon grace.  In the midst of such compassion we succumb to your loving spirit.  We fall to our knees in shame.  We recognize our sin and ask for your help.  In our repentance you gently place Christ back into our name and we are set on our way for another try.

Thank you,
Holy Father,
for your
gracious presence.
Thank you
for your kindness
even in
our sinfulness.
Right us
when we stumble
and fall
so we
can stand tall
and proclaim
your grace.

Love always, Andrea
