Dear God,

It makes a difference what we give to the world around us.  If we give hope and peace, we can create a tranquil, serene space.  If we give love and compassion, we can make an offering of comfort and refuge.  If we give carry living water to those near and far, we can help co-create lush environments of flowing streams and radiant beauty.

But if we are negative and judgmental, we drag people down.  If we are critical and offer nothing of value, we strip away even the good that is within reach.  If we show lack of respect, we have the ability of destroying the very beauty you came to give to your people.

As we awaken to each new day, you ask us to consider what our daily offering will be.

Show us
the way
to goodness,
O Lord;
teach us
to listen
to you
so we
may fulfill
your desire
for us all.
